Travel Agency License of Hispana Tours ehf. Revoked

The Icelandic Tourist Board has revoked the travel agency license of Hispana Tours ehf., license no. 2024-001, ID no. 411223-0350, effective from April 10, 2026, as the company was declared bankrupt on March 19, 2026.

The license no longer meets license requirements, membership of the Travel Insurance Fund is cancelled at the same time. Hispana Tours ehf. is neither authorized to put together, offer or sell package tours or day trips nor to facilitate the sale of linked travel arrangements for commercial purposes.

The Travel Guarantee Fund reimburses travelers for payments they have made for a package tour or linked travel arrangement that is not carried out in accordance with the contract due to the insolvency of the travel agency.

The deadline for submitting claims to the Travel Guarantee Fund is June 15, 2026. Claims must be received within the specified submission deadline. Claims received after that time will not be considered. Claims must be accompanied by sufficient documentation to prove the claim, an itinerary and receipts for payment or bank transfer. Claims are submitted through the web portal at island.is. For those who do not have an Icelandic ID number, a claim can be submitted by email to claims@itb.is
