This cycling route begins in the lush surroundings of Hellisgerði, a peaceful park in the heart of Hafnarfjörður. From there, you cycle south along Hellisgata until you reach Víðistaðatún, a vast recreational area with diverse playgrounds and walking paths. The path is followed through the meadow towards Víðistaðakirkja, then you turn left onto the trail that runs alongside the lava field. Next, you cross the street and head out along Skjólvangur, where the route leads to Hrafnista. At Hrafnista, turn left and cycle along Herjólfsgata until you arrive at Brúsastaðir. Here, a beautiful coastal route begins, running alongside the sea. You pass by the Hafnarfjörður Swimming Hall and continue along Norðurbakki and Fjarðargata. This is also a great opportunity to pause, enjoy the view, and observe harbour activities or the birdlife by the shore. From Fjarðargata, turn onto Lækjargata and continue to the right at Brekkugata. The route now heads towards Flensborgarskóli and Hamarinn, where it’s ideal to enjoy views over the town and the surrounding nature. Continue by turning left onto Hringbraut and follow it to Hamarkotslækur. There, you join a path that runs alongside Hörðuvellir, a green area with open landscapes and playgrounds. Finally, turn left onto Tjarnarbraut and follow it to Hverfisgata, which leads back to the starting point.
