Just over a year ago, the Icelandic Tourist Board launched the project Clean & Safe / Hreint og öruggt. The project aims to help tourism operators welcome their customers safely and responsibly during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The project has been successful. Three hundred companies have participated by filling out a self-assessment regarding infection prevention and cleaning, which subsequently received the Clean & Safe / Clean & Safe label for 2021.

Because of the current situation, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Icelandic Tourist Board has decided to extend the project, at least for another year.

The Icelandic Tourist Board encourages all tourism operators, both current participants, and others, to participate in the project and show in action that the tourism industry in Iceland is still ready to receive its guests with professionalism and responsibility.

All tourism operators registered in The Icelandic Tourist Board‘s database will receive an e-mail in the next few days, which will contain a link to the self-assessment for participation in the project.
