Travel Agency Licence Ferðadraumur ehf. (formerly Trans Atlantic ehf.) Revoked

The Icelandic Tourist Board hereby announces that the travel agency licence of Ferðadraumur ehf., formerly Trans Atlantic ehf., ID No. 670904-2370, licence No. 2006-072, has been revoked.

The revocation takes effect on 4 June 2026, as the company no longer fulfils the requirements prescribed by the Act on Package Travel and Linked Travel Arrangements No. 95/2018 and the Regulation on the Travel Guarantee Fund No. 812/2021, as amended.

Accordingly, the company is no longer authorised to organise, offer for sale or sell package travel arrangements, nor to facilitate the sale of linked travel arrangements for commercial purposes.

The Icelandic Travel Guarantee Fund reimburses travellers for payments made in respect of package travel arrangements or linked travel arrangements that are not performed in accordance with the relevant contract, including where a trader's licence has been revoked by the Icelandic Tourist Board pursuant to Article 27 of Act No. 95/2018.

The Fund's liability applies irrespective of whether a final package travel contract has been concluded, provided that payment can be demonstrated by satisfactory evidence.

Claims for reimbursement must be submitted no later than 5 August 2026. Claims received after that date will not be considered. Claims are submitted through the web portal at island.is.

For those who do not have an Icelandic ID number, a claim can be submitted by e-mail to krofur@ferdamalastofa.is 

All claims must be accompanied by sufficient supporting documentation evidencing the claim, including, where applicable, details of the travel arrangements and receipts or other evidence of payment.
