The Novel Coronavirus – Health alert notice for international travellers and gereral info
The Icelandic Tourist Board has sent out an announcement from The Directorate of Health, Chief Epidemiologist, regarding the spread of the new coronavirus. Hotels, guesthouses and other accommodations, as well as tour operators, are encouraged to print out the information and have it visible in their reception. The announcement is in Icelandic and English and a Chinese version is being processed and will be sent out.
The response of Icelandic authorities will be aimed at preventing the spread of the virus within the country, ensuring health services for possible cases and maintaining necessary domestic activities. The public and tourists in Iceland who think they have been infected with the virus are encouraged to call tlf. 1700 from an Icelandic phone number or +354 544 4113 from a foreign phone for more information and how to approach the healthcare system.
