112 thousand departures of foreign passengers in May

The number of departures of foreign passengers from Iceland via Keflavík Airport was around 112 thousand in May, according to numbers from the Icelandic Tourist Board. This is the fifth most populous month in May since the survey began. Departures in May were about 68% of what they were in May 2018 at its peak and about 89% of what they were in May 2019. Almost a quarter of departures were due to travelers from the United States.
