Apply grant from NATA: Deadline 8th of September

NATA now invites applications within the North Atlantic Countries. NATA (North Atlantic Tourism Association) supports projects with collaborating partners from at least two of the three member countries: FAROE ISLANDS, ICELAND AND GREENLAND.

 

NATA’s vision is to:

  • Promote the West Nordic countries as a tourist destination
  • Encourage coordinated marketing of the region
  • Offer grants and travel support for projects that express our vision
  • Help improve the quality of tourist services in the region
  • Build partnerships between the participating countries
  • Promote knowledge sharing, product development and innovation

 

In 2025, NATA is particularly interested in projects that focus on sustainability, and digitization within tourism.

 

Grant applications can be sent for projects working with:

  • Collaborative marketing
  • Innovation and product development
  • Networking and knowledge exchange
  • Quality and environmental issues in tourism

 

NATA’s financial support is aimed at both business-related and cultural projects, as there are two types of grants:

  1. Grants for tourism development and marketing
  2. Grants for travel support

 

Assessment criteria

NATA’s board decides who receives support, the applications are evaluated on the following factors:

 

Applications for tourism development and marketing

  • The idea and quality of the application – be sure to fill in the form correctly, as incomplete forms will not be considered
  • Budget requirements and other funding
  • Tourism development
  • Partnership between the countries
  • Marketing possibilities
  • Innovative nature
  • Community and sustainability aspects

The maximum grant offered for these types of projects is DKK 100.000, and this amount must not exceed 50% of the project’s entire funding. The grant is not for wages or consultant fees.

 

Applications for travel support

  • The purpose of the trip
  • The quality of the application – be sure to fill the form out correctly, as incomplete forms will not be considered
  • Emphasis on cultural interaction – e.g., staying with local families instead of using hotels
  • Budget requirements and other funding

 

The maximum NATA offers for travel support is:

  • DKK 1.000 per person for travel between Iceland and the Faroe Islands (round trip)
  • DKK 2.000 per person for travel between Iceland and Greenland (round trip)
  • DKK 3.000 per person for travel between Faroe Islands and Greenland (round trip)

The support within this category is solely intended for travel costs – not accommodation or daily living expenses.

The application deadline is on the 8th of September 2025 at 23:59 (GMT+1) and applicants will receive a reply on the applicaton from NATA by email on the 10th of October 2025.

Please notice that projects and travels completed before the 10th of October 2025 will not be considered for a NATA grant.

This is the second application round of two in 2025. The next application deadline will be in January/February 2026. Dates will be posted here on the NATA  website.

There are two different application forms for the two types of grants:
